The 24 solar terms in illustration
Our year is a full cycle, and we change into twenty-four new looks throughout it. Express each of your twenty-four full moons into an illustration. There is no correct answer. Please enjoy with your whole heart as you start your drawing journey with me!
What is your daily life like?
There aren't many people who fill their daily lives with special moments. Through illustrations, I want to help you uncover even the smallest moments that you inadvertently overlook in your everyday life into fun stories.
If I dreamed of myself, it would just be a dream, but when you share your dreams with others, a new story begins. The excitement of the future that hasn't yet come, the memory of a past moment that remains in the corner of your heart, and the small deviation and eagerness to escape from your boring everyday life, I hope you will have time to enjoy painting with me!
The story of your diverse life
Express it with a warm illustration.
I think the biggest advantage of this iPad drawing class is that we can create stories through different forms of your diverse life that we encounter everywhere.
I hope this class becomes a source of healing or comfort in your life.
Go to a quiet café and focus on your art,
Enjoy drawing pictures of the clothes you’re going to wear next weekend and fashion items you would like to buy!
The paintings that you and I draw together
Will become the start of your new dream.
The most beautiful days of your life are the ones you haven't lived yet.
Here’s what you’ll learn
Learn to draw on the iPad with a warm analog feeling!
Instead of having to pack art tools one by one, with an iPad, you can simply draw anywhere you want, anytime you want. There is no hassle of having to buy materials, and you can finish your illustrations with any color you want! From the basics of digital drawing, how to draw a line, I will teach you step by step, so that even the newest beginners can follow along.
Learn a variety of ways of expressing and creating illustrations
using the Procreate app.
There are many different apps for drawing on the iPad, but in this class, we will be dealing with the Procreate app. Using Procreate's various settings, we will organize and draw a variety of objects and scenes. And you can create a wallpaper for your phone with the pictures you draw, or even a postcard that you can print and present to someone as a gift.
Learn to draw with the feeling of creating on paper with digital tools.
This is a digital drawing class, but unlike other digital drawing classes, we will draw using some of my favorite analog brushes and create a warm, friendly feeling with a more hand-made feel.
Capture your story through illustration.
Digital drawing with Sungkyou Bae.
Step 01 : Using Procreate
This class will focus on using Procreate to draw. The iPad application is versatile with a myriad of brushes and different textures. Learn about how to use these brushes, textures, layers, and how to control pressure.
Step 02 : Getting an Analog Feel
Although this is a digital drawing class, we will focus on trying to get an analog feel using Procreate’s many brushes. Learn how to manipulate the brushes to get an illustration that feels like it was created on paper.
Step 03 : Season-Related Illustrations
Traditional East-Asian calendars divided the year into 24 solar terms. We will draw illustrations based on four of these solar terms. Lichun, for spring, Lixia for summer, Liqiu for autumn, and Lidong for winter.
Step 04 : Applying Your Illustrations
You can use your illustrations for many uses. I’ll show you how to transform your illustrations into products you can use. Together we’ll create phone wallpapers and postcards.

Artist Sungkyou Bae
Hello, I’m Bae Sungkyou, a freelance illustrator who runs the graphics studio 'Ending Credit'.
I'm also working as a calligraphy designer!
Are you having a special day?
Have you ever forgotten the preciousness of that trivial everyday life?
Every day is happy and dreamy, and I talk about those special moments.
It's been 5 years since I started a job as a freelance artist after I resigned from a design company because I wanted to draw what I wanted to, not the ones I was asked to.
I'm working hard in various fields such as illustration, cosmetic package, fashion brand, album cover, exhibition, franchise cafe illustration, and corporate collaboration!

A warm illustration to talk about
As an illustrator, I started to take my first steps sincerely and started as an artist in 2015 after being elected to the Naver Portfolio Storypick Artist Contest.
I drew about the time of the day that a puppy called 'Chapsaldok', a puppy that looks white and chewy like glutinous rice cake, dreams. It's a picture of everyday life that we face everywhere, including houses, streets, and cafes.
When I applied, I wanted to communicate with many people through my illustrations rather than achieve the goal of being elected. The reason I started painting when I was young was because I liked people communicating with my drawings.
I was selected as the Top Creator of Naver Portfolio in 2015 and 2016 as I was working on a ‘Chapsaldok,’ and personally I was loved by so many people.
I wanted to convey the textures of analog by fully using the analog feeling and warm materials and colors of black and white silent movies before technology was developed.
By presenting the beauty that has already passed. I thought that times of brilliant visual effects or surprisingly new plot developments weren't all too close.

Q. This is my first time learning drawing. Can I start with the iPad?
A. Even those who do not know where and how to start drawing for the first time can learn by following slowly and through enough practice! It's your first time, so you should take it slow, but I think it will be a fun enough painting lesson if you enjoy drawing bit by bit without getting greedy!
Q. Can I take the class without an iPad ?
A. Unfortunately, it's digital drawing, so without an iPad, it’s hard to take the class! If your taste is a little more like the feeling of hand drawn work, I think my colored pencil class will be a little better for you! You can choose it as a lecture that you want to enjoy and have fun with.
Q. Is the class possible with an Android device (Galaxy Tab)?
A. This class is conducted with Apple's iPad and Apple Pencil! The Procreate app does not yet support Android, so unfortunately, Android users will still find it difficult to use. I've tried many painting applications, but for beginners to enjoy painting easily, and I think it would be great to finally proceed with classes using iPad and devices that support the Procreate app, which is more intuitive and easy to learn with!
